Trist syn

Nylig kjørte jeg til Bergen. En flott tur over fjellet og langs Vestlandets varemerke: Fjordene. Men idyllen ødelegges fullstendig av hundrevis av oppdrettsanlegg, en konstant trussel mot villaks og sjøørret, og en vesentlig årsak til den kritiske situasjonen i mange elver. Trist og provoserende!

Recently, I drove to Bergen, a major city on the west coast. From Sandefjord, where I live, it's a lovely trip over the mountains and, then, along the many, beautiful fjords. What's extremely sad and rather provoking, however, is watching all the fish farms. They represent a constant threat to our wild salmon and sea trout, and the industry is a major reason why 120 Norwegian rivers are closed for fishing this season.
